An afternoon of pondering

This afternoon I went over to Reading to visit Kathlyn. No specific intentions except to ponder where to start.
When I arrived I discovered that the spiders had already moved in, wow they are quick. I read somewhere that spiders on a boat mean that it is dry, don't know where I read it or if it is true.
I spent a while discovering that the main 12V distribution board that is currently in the center of the boat has got long enough tails on it for it to be moved to the side of the boat, so that may get moved into the corner of the saloon so that the stove (with chimney) can go in the middle. Need to try and find out if chimney being close to wiring is going to be an issue.
Also started looking at the various services (wiring tails and pipes) and working out which ones were (and more importantly were not) in the right place for my plan.
Lots to think about, think I need to start making a list.

The task ahead

This it the task I have ahead of me ...
Kitchen and Saloon (Looking forward and back)

The Bedroom (Looking forward and back)

The Hand-Over

The hand-over process all went very well and smoothly. First went through some of the items of paperwork that I was getting, mainly manuals and warranty cards, then it was on the boat for a full tour.
The tour of the boat probably took the best part of an hour to cover everything from bow to stern. It covered all the electrical and plumbing installations, details of the engine and which wood panels could be removed for access. It was then time for the lesson on how to start her up and take her for her maiden trip (well other than the one she had from the cranage to the New Boat pontoons).
The first trip was around the marina and then down the lake. She was then turned round and back to fill her up with some diesel, before she ran out. She took 197 litres to fill her up.
We then moved Kathlyn to her new home in the marina and went and finished off the paperwork.
This is her moored up in her new home.

Day of hand-over

Just about to head over to New Boat Co to have the hand-over of Kathlyn. Lots of butterflies in my belly!

First visit to see the boat

As I had heard she had arrived in Reading, today I went and visited.

Here she is in all her glory.

For those of you that don't know already, her name is to be Kathlyn.

Have had a look round her both on the outside and a look through the inside and all looks as expected, no surprises in any area. The wood inside looks great.
